Default Custom Grille

I used the search, and didnt find what I was looking for.

Im wondering if the inside of the grille (where it has the little slits, and the Honda emblem) if that just pops off, or if it would need to be dremeled off, so I can put mesh behind it. I dont really want to order a grille off the internet unless I just have to.

what year? The 6th gens (96-00), you just take off the front bumpe,r then the grill you are tlaking about, you can just unscrew it and replace it with a new one. I did it, its like a 15 minutes job, i got "Type-R Grill" off of ebay for like $25 and it works just fine

You'd have to cut it and it would probably look like crap.

i did mine, just look in my gallery, i cut the guts out, made a template for the mesh, cut the mesh to size, fit it between the shell and grille, and presto, you have a grille (for free)

naw i just left it the color it came, i have a black car so unless you look close you can tell its a little bit off, and i know that if i painted it exactly to match and clear coated it really well it'd look sick, but i'm not that picky

my friend took the emblem off of his 99si without cutting anything, dunno how exactly he did it, said he used some special screwdriver or w/e, but it looks great.

on 96-98, you either put the cash down on a ctr, or you make your own

on 99-00, you either buy the ctr, si, or make your own again
and on the si's, the emblem can be removed fairly easily with simple hand tools.
