my civic/Honda/and EX emblems on my trunk are starting to show rust colors around them and the emblems themselves are starting to "carrode" can i take them off and clean under them, or what can i do, i do not want to remove them permentaly

 

remove them with fishing line or dental floss, then clean and buff the area really well. then get some decal adhesive or some good double sided tape (the thick kind, its kinda padded.) and cut it out to fit the back side of the emblem and stick them back on.
