I want to know if you can change the bluelight on the dashboard of a civic lx 2007 to red light like the ones one the 2007 Si. Do you have to take out the whole console or could you do it with less hassle and how should I go about it if it's a possibility?

 

I havent seen it done but yeah u might have to take out the whole dash... Is the red light really that important or were u just wondering

 

You would have to take out your cluster, its just a couple a screws and change the bulb in the back.

edit**** thanks peg, i miss read the thread...I thought you were asking for a different year civic, ya the new ones I have no idea..

 

if i'm not mistaken the cluster's on the 06 up civics's are leds and probably can't be changed easily and i wouldn't go with a si cluster cause the k20 in them will have a differant rpm curve than your r18 so the tach would be off

 

my friend did a change like that in his 93 hatch I am unsure if you have a A/c Moore arts n crafts store near you but if you have a arts n craft store around....buy some red glass paint. and do it that way his turned out real nice he even did the air control deal but yea just take out the cluster and take out the bulbs and paint them it works and is fast

 

i just checked on 8th gen civic these clusters have leds not bulbs and they say they can't be changed

 

Should I call honda and ask them or I might as well stop wasting time on it.
