i have a 99 civic ex and it has a dent on the pass. side front door. I'm pretty sure i need to get a new door skin, how hard/possible to put on myself? I went to an auto body shop and they quoted the repair at $2,000! F*CK THAT! Any advice/tips/opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

How large is the dent?

 

its prob about the size of my hand, but it is very shallow. At the right angle u cant even see it

umm yah im pretty sure its called a skin because the auto repair guy told me i needed 1 and i can find them for sale on the net

 

well if you plan on getting a new skin, try smacking in out first, if that doesn't work, buy a skin and have the body shop put it on. If you aren't familiar with body work, a whole skin is not the place to start. You can try if you want, but, yeah.

 

whoa, whoa...you can replace the outer panel of doors without replacing the whole thing? i have a bunch of little dings that drive me bonkers. how much and where are my next questions...

 

yah i was looking around and i found a site explaining how to put it on........haha that isn't gunna happen. dragoncivicsi just google door skin and it will give u a bunch of online part store where u can order them

 

i checked out this website and they sell for 70 bucks! i'm gonna try dry ice and few other things first then i may bite the bullet. gotta add the cost of painting too. doesnt sound so great anymore.
