Default exposed cam gears?

im having some things powder coated purple to match my zex controller (valve cover, fuel rail, shifter and ****, tower bars) and im buying some purple cam gears to accent it. how do i get that gnarly exposed gear look? i didnt know if theres a trick im unaware of or if i need to just bust out the dremmel... sorry if this is a goofy question! car is basically modded out with the exception of boost, so i wanted a little individuality. purple and teal... never seen it together. hope its not too gaudy!

I would suggest to buy one of those moon cut timing belt covers. That way, it'll cover the belt, and show you the cam gears.

Just an example:

^thats cool
but if your going to do that you might as well take a dremel to your timing belt cover

well IMO i wouldnt use a dremel... easiest way is a hole saw and drill... will make a perfect circle and just use a small file to smooth down the edges.

if you use a dremel chances are your holes wont be round.

It's pretty stupid to drive without the cover. It's there for a really good reason. If you want adjustable cam gear access then cut the circles out on the side like in cvcrcr99's link.
