Default Fixing Cosmetic Blemishes.

Well my grandma wasnt the best driver i guess. There was a ding on my bumper and i finally got around to painting it. Here is how i did it, with pics.

Step 1. Get "400 Grit wetordry" sandpaper and sand down the spot youre going to paint. Make sure u "Wetsand" it......just dip the sandpaper in a bucket of water and sand and repeat, until its nice and smooth. Then let it dry. If u are impatient like me, get a fan and position it on the spot......much faster.
Step 2. Spray a slight amount of primer on the spot you are going to paint. VERY light coat. Let it dry.
Step 3. Give it your first coat, light easy coat, let it dry and repeat until it looks good.
Step 4. Clearcoat the $hit outta the thing.....do it about 5 times. Light coat, let dry. repeat.

Dont mask off too much of an area, otherwise u will not color-match the paint. I actually sanded a pretty large area, this way the paint blends in with the rest. I used DUPLICOLOR spray paint (matched the factory color code of my cars paint).....and duplicolor primer and clearcoat. Here are some pics. This cost about 12$ to do.

Sweet! Thanks for the mini-DIY! I have been looking to do this since when I got my Civic it had a few of these... but I had been a little hesitant.

Looks real good.

looks way better. ill remember that when some jackass hits my car in the parking lot. i hate when you park so far away to get away from cars and when i came out there was a car on all three sides. no joke. tons of empty spots closer but no. they park their crap cars right next to mine

Well done mate, looks real good.

Your lucky cause your paint matches perfect, I've done this a few times and fair enough the finish came out perfect, but thing is my car is 10 years old so the factory paint has faded...so even with the dupli colour colour match stuff, the colour is just a little to dark.

mine is 11 years old. Thats why u have to sand more than just that little area......let it slowly blend in to the rest of the paint.
