My g/f is wanting fog lights and headlight tint and I plan on getting her these items for her birthday but I have a few quetions about what ive found so far.

First question does anyone have any experience about the fog lights like these off ebay? To me $40 bucks sounds cheap for fog lights and the wiring.

second question does anyone have any experience with the headlight tinting? How difficult would you rate this?

With 'headlight tinting'
One, in some states it is illegal unless it is factory tinitng, so check your local laws cause some cops will be dicks and give you a ticket.
Two, if you still decide you want to tint your headlights, DO NOT spray tint on them.
A number of things can go wrong with this:
Once you get pulled over for it, you'll have to remove it to take care of it some how and that means......BUYING NEW HEADLIGHTS! YAY!!!
Or, once it gets done and you see it looks really dumb, guess what........YOU GET TO BUY NEW HEADLIGHTS!!! YAY!!!
Alternative to spray: Tint film. Just thrown some film over the headlights. Can be easily installed and removed without being out a buttload of money.

 

dude stop saying after you spray tint it ruins the lights.... IT DOESNT.LOL





and with just alittle wax they shine right back up to look better than before.... because now all the scratches and pits are sanded out. 2K grit sandpaper works best for the smoothest look that only needs alittle bit of rubbing compound or wax.

ive retinted my stock taillights 6times now and i can still just sand the tint off and shine it up.

BUT with tinting your headlights..... I HIGHLY ADVICE NOT TO...... some eye lid type tint would look nice BUT if you tint the whole lights your headlight output will suffer ALOT even if you dont tint to much...... anyone that drives at night knows the headlights suck already..... you want all the light output you can get! maybe a thin layer on the fogs would be alright but i would keep them of the headlights!

 

Yeah macbeth I hear you I plan on the film tint and not the spray on.

As for the blackouts and cops I personally havent had any problems with them for headlight tint. I live in Tx and im not sure the laws on it. The only thing I get pulled over for is no front plate.

why tint your headlights and risk nighttime vision? if you don't like 'em, better just take them out than having something on that you can't use anyway. imo.

 

you could also buy some clear headlight covers and then tint them...... at least then you could simply pull them off for nite time driving....
