Default good nationwide shops to get car painted?

They could either be nationwide or just in the Chicagoland area if anyone here lives around Chicago. Don't say Maaco. I've heard they do a shoddy job from friends that have gone cheap and gotten their cars done there. Thanks.

Read a book on how to paint, then if you feel comfortable, give it a try. If you have a Maaco by you, go there.People hate on their jobs, but thats because people get the 250-400 dollar jobs. If you get the base/clear job, they look good and will do aboutany color without the price changing.

Thanks. I'll look into painting on my own, but I don't have an air-compressor and all the other accessories that you need to spray even coats on the car. The paint job is actually not that bad if you're looking at it from the front, back, or sides. It still has a good shine to it. But the top, behind the sliding/tilt window and just above the rear window, the black is really fading and you can actually see some white in there. It's kinda blotchy.

Whoever mentioned MAACOon thelast post, I didn't mean to say that they suck. Yeah, the friends of mine that did go there, I just asked them yesterday night, did get the cheapest price-wise paint job. I just assumed since they advertise on TV,maybe they are the cheaper way to go in terms of quality. Then again, AAMCO, advertises on TV andwhen I had my '88 Toyota Celica, they put in a new trans and clutch and they did an awesome job. I never had any problems with the trans or clutch after that. And I had the car for almost 8 years. It was the engine that went bye-bye. I should have taken the trans and clutch out and tried to sell them for spare parts before I junked the thing. Heh.

There are places that will rent out the equipment you need to paint, even a paint booth. Its not too expensive, way cheaper than paying someone else to do it. Ive been researching this stuff for a while because im either painting mine or getting it done here soon.

Dude do iut yourself. Do some reserach and stuff or even practice on a friends car if he is willing or soemthing... Like most things int eh world with getting paint jobs you get what you pay.. If you pay 250 you will get 250 and nothing more.... I also think if you od it yourself you will be such an **** person that it will have no choice but to come out good........
