Grill
i bought a grill for my 02 civic coupe ex and i was gonna put it on but i didn't know you have to take off the bumper to put it on ... Does anyone know if theres anyother way to do it besides taking off the front bumper??
just take off the bumper, its not a big deal, 1 screw in each wheel well, like 6 pins in the grill and like 4-6 more screws.bolts underneath, should only take like 20 mins or less.
taking the bumper off isnt really a big deal man, socket wrench and a screw driver and 10 minutes and you're set. Once you have the bumper off, unscrew the old grill and put the new one in. You might have to drill new holes for it, but thast no big deal. Then reinstall and you're all set
Agreed... i dont know about these guys 6th gens but our 7th gens have pressure clips (like 6 of them) that hold the inner grille on. You can take off the pressure clips and screws on the top and then reach in with a flathead screwdriver to push the clips out that hold on the inner grille....IT TAKES ALOT OF FORCE AND YOU WILL CUT YOURSELF... but that grille is plastic so it really bends well. I have big hands so it really sucked so I gave up and took the whole bumper off... there are two screws in the wheel wells and a couple that hold on the lower and a couple up top... yeah, 10 minutes or less.
I have to agree that it is ez to take off and on the front bumper but i have to ad that just break down and buy some automotive masking tape. (most places have it-autozone, napa, etc.) Just to protect your paint in the corners where the bumper and fender meet and the bottomwhere u would rest the bumper. It suckes how ez paint gets scratched.
