Default Halo Question

So I did some searching around because im trading my OEM's for some halo projectors but then i found a thread saying that regular bulbs won't shine through the glas very well and that you should get hids for them. Is this true? They're not blacked out projectors there really clear. I just wanna know if I can still use my OEM bulbs with them because im not $ready$ to buy HID, sorry if this is a dumb question I did search. Thanks

I have not heard anyone say flat out that regular bulbs won't work, but I have heard conflicting reports about how bright they are through the lens. I'm gonna buy Sylvania SilverStars and I can't imagine them not working, hyperwhite (not blue) good spread/pattern, slow dimming cycle...

Already got my lights ordered, should ship first thing next week!

well....My lights arnt as bright as they were with stocks, but they still work very well.......but to say that you have to have a hid kit....i dont think so...you should be fine as long as you get some good bulbs.

If you're not planning on getting HID then just get NOKYA brand Arctic Whites... they'll shine through the projectors fine but it will not be as bright as stock bulbs in stock housings.... you cant take the stock lightbulb out of your car and put it in the projectors because our stock size is like 9005 or 9006 and the projectors are H1 size...

PS... I have my halo projectors from EagleEye and I have 6k HID bulbs (just not the ballasts to power them) I'll sell for super cheap... just get them out of my apartment... chrome housing.

Yea I had halogens in mine and they worked but they were dimm, I got HID plug n play and it made a world of difference and it was hell when the bulbs died (and the stupid seller stiffed me on the "warrenty") and I was back with using halogens.......

If you do get projector conversion untis try to get the units WITH OUT the purple ion tinting, it tinges the output yellow and lowers the output (my 5000K HID's look like really bright halogens thru the ion tinting [&:]).
