Hey, im a new member to the forums and I wanted to ask a question, just the other day my friend gave me a box of Streetglow Underbody lights (red) and I wanted to know if they're illegal because he said only blue is illegal in every state and I just wanted to make sure, I live in Washington DC by the way so if you can help me or tell me how can I find out I would really appreciate it and also if you can give me your opinion if the lights are worth putting it on or not.

 

I'm pretty sure they are illegal everywhere in every color. My advice, sell them and buy some performance mods.

 

i live in maryland and its illegal. i think (not to sure) that just about any after market exterior lighting like neons is illegal while driving but its alright if ur parked and have them on.

 

In Ontario they are legal in every color provided they:

- Don't flash, blink or strobe.
- The bulbs can not be seen directly
- License plate is light by white light.

Probably doesnt go for you but im sure some one will find it useful.

best bet would be to check with your local authorites first.
They arent illegal in every state, it just varies by color.

 

i wouldent worry about it, i live in ontario and tuns of people drive with underbodys on, some people do get pulled over tho and just get a warning, but alot of police dont really care, theres this one guy i no, he was driving at night with them on and a cop pulled him over, he thought he was in crap, so the cop pulls up to him and tells him that one of the sides are out and gives him a smile and leaves [sm=happy046.gif]

yea theyre prob not legal. Technically in NJ u can get locked up for em. You are "Impersoning an emergency Vehicle"

 

It all varies by state.

Though I am curious where one would go to find the regulations in a given state.

I am wondering the same thing (NoVa area)

 

I know that in Indiana, it's illegal to have blue or red lights anywhere on your vehicle unless it's off road/parked.
