Hey gotta question bout underbody neons
Hey i was wondering. I have seen people leaving there underbody neon kits on while they are in the house. How long before your battery does? Do they take alot of juice out?. I DONT WANNA HEAR OH THATS TOO RICEY. Im just asking a question. How long does it take before it will kill your battery. And can you buy like a timer so they shut off so ur battery dont die

RE: Hey gotta question bout underbody neons
im sure there is a way to set a timer to them
prolly take apart a regular plug in the wall timer and desect it, i would say 20 minutes wouldnt hurt and you could start the car again, but i wouldbe suggest it

about an hour or two and it will be fine, maybe even more than that. Some of the expensive kits have timers in them. They arent ricey if they are done right... I just hate when I can see the tube.

You will find that both neon and LED undercar kits use very little current at all so running them for hours at a time should be no problem.
One thing to be sure of though is that all the connections between the tubes and more importantly the ground (-ve) are good electrical connections. Bad connections = bad power consumption.

I would say the are too cheesey for a civic unless fitted to a show car or thats ur taste
But if u are going to fit them then i would wire it to a switch so that u can switch them on and off when u want too n that means no harm done to the battery providing ur engine is on
So if that is what u want go for it but remember not to leave them on when the car is not running or thats when u will run into problems

I haven't gotten underbodys........ yet...... but I left my 2 15" LED neons on accidentally for about 7 hours and my car still started (cheapo battery too). but it had a little trouble starting up in cold weather. I wouldn't suggest trying it though, I've gotten a new battery since than.
