Default HIGH BEAM CONVERSION

WASSUP EVERYONE. I'VE BEEN LOOKING INTO GETTING SOME BRIGHTER HEADLIGHTS. I WAS RESEARCHING SOME SYLVANIA SYLVERSTARS WHEN I CAME ACROSS THIS WEBSITE TALKING ABOUT MODIFYING A HIGH BEAM BULB(9005) TO FIT INTO THE LOW BEAM SLOT(9006). I HAVE MANY QUESTIONS. NUMBER ONE, IS IT SAFE? CAN THIS FRY MY HARNESS? NUMBER TWO, I KNOW THIS WILL PROBABLY VOID MY WARRANTY BUT CAN THE DEALERSHIP FIND OUT? THANKS.

first, hit your caps lock button.
Second, the "upgrade" is minimal when switching from a 55 watt bulb to a 65 watt bulb. The only difference between the two beyond the wattages is the 9006 has a coated top which some people swear is covering a ton of light or something. The bulb will be hotter, will it burn your harness? I doubt it. Will it be worth the time and effort to shave the tab to make the 9005 fit? imo no, you'd be better off with 80watt 9006's.....
I've used silverstar bulbs and I personally was happy with them but if you don't want to spend the money than find 4300k-5500K bulbs on ebay and they'll generally be cheaper. The reason I list a K number is because this will yeild a white or near white bulb with it's blue coating, were as say 6000k+ will tend to be bluer and cops don't like that much plus it's output/cast isnt' as great.

NO PROBLEM MAN.................. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY AM A SCREAMING............. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

but anyways... hell no running high beams in your low beams is that safe!!!!!! thats just stupid!
lets face it your trying to blind people with some high beams!

if you realy want a upgrade get some projector headlight housings and some HID lights for them.
downfall quite a chunk of change!

actually that is a good modification imo. your not going to blind anyone, you just get brighter headlights. the brights are aimed diferently than the regular headlights and that is why they blind a lot of people, by using a higher wattage bulb you will have brighter headlights.

www.fourthgenhatch.net has a diy on it too
