i'm getting ready to paint my car, opinions needed

95civic1.6l, OK so when I find what exact color it is, I just go pick up the paint and grab a brush and do it myself? if so, how many coats, etc.

no problem 92B16. I think that would look pretty nice. Especially on a little older model. Let me know how it looks.
CrIyVaInc. I would use a spray gun. Tape off what you don't want painted. Like the side of the car because you don't want that getting everywhere and this way you know where you are painting. you will need to throw some primer on there. Im not sure if it will match your cars color completely. because the paint on the car is prolly a little faded and losing its finish. Im not sure what paint you need but you might need to get it through honda hopefully not otherwise it will be real expensive. 2 layers should be good. Then you might want to use clear coat. I guess you can try and do it with a brush but you might see streaks. search it b4 you paint it. Don't blame me if it doesn't look right. (need to cover my ***)

..../sigh. I'm gonna be pissed if a bunch of dark silver civics start showing up before I get around to painting mine. I don't wanna have to pick a new color again.[8D]

so i have a spare door and i painted it gunmetal and it looks awesome, so that is what i'm going to paint my car, at pepboys they have duplicolor spray paint in little cans so you can try different colors, they are only like $5 a piece

don't worry ricer they didn't make that exact color for the year civic you have. So you should be fine. It will prolly look hot though post pictures
