.....a sounds so easy... but i forgot about something..... im sure my bass is not good for a hard drive right next to the subs.LOL and my old computer IS HUGE!

yea
i was actually thinking about doing a car computer while i was laying in bed last night
the perfect machine for it would be a mac mini, they're only like $500 new

lol at the mac....

and you cant just stick a pc in there the different voltages will kill it pretty quick and an old pc would take so much power to run since the new mini itx motherboards use like 20 watts

here is the inside of the pc part i custom made to fit inside a cd changer case to keep it OEM

you can but that is still a waste and bulky at the same time

they make car power supplys just for the pc

hmm, what kind of operating system do you have to use to get it to work basically like a headunit?
is it like windows xp, and then you have to open the program everytime you start the car?
or is like its own operating system

i run a stripped down version of xp that i have made myself it boots in 10 seconds then it loads a program by itself that does everything in the one pic plus a ton more options that are on other screens..like music, video, nav, ipod, sat radio, tv, weather, wifi and a bunch more

that's pretty sweet
you think the same thing is possible on a mac though?
the reason i'd want to use a mac mini is because how small they are straight out of the box

nothing is really coded for that software wise and you can build one for less than that mac thing
