Default Making room in the dash

Hey, I'm a newbie when it comes to all this stuff, but I'm gathering information to start a carputer project with my '95 Civic. I am wanting to put a 7" touchscreen where my existing stereo is.

My question is this: is there anywhere that I could purchase a modified dash where the stereo opening is double the size of the OEM? Either that or if there is a way to move the A/C controls to make room for the screen?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

you will have to make this yourself i believe. you are going to have to take the a/c controls out and make your own fiberglass box for the screen. make a box so the screen will fit and then paint it and put it back in.

you sound like me...i just got all my hardware and started doing this as well...what you do is take the HVAC controls and move them down to where your tape deck is. Do you have the tape deck or radio package? if so that make if fairly easy just fabricate it to fit perfect it looks good down there, then you have lots of room in the console up there to use ur plastic weld and epoxy to fill in teh space and get ur lcd bracket in, then bondo it up get ur shape sand it till its as smooth as a babys bottom, prime, paint to match and voila lcd in dash with oem look, if you go to the show off section in mp3car.com and search civic you will see tons of threads on this and some one how to's...good luck and keep us updated
