alright i now have a purple car...it was oringally black.

did all paint and priming and clear coat myself.
Car was suppose to be black with a red flake/sparkle in the clear.

So primer and base coat went fine. Waited a few weeks to shoot the clear. Bought a red pigment/pearl type deal that supposely was suppose to change different colors of red. Shot the clear pulled the car out the next day and to my surprise the whole car was purple. Quickly and very pissed i emailed that seller of the pigment and he said it sounds like i did everything right.

So all in all i have a sort of deep purple car... its not what you think... i wil have pictures up soon, car is getting the wheels aligned.

but its funny kinda..but it looks good if you like purple.. clear turned out great... buit not was i was going for..
so moral....red and black kinda make a deep purple color.

JK, yeah, id like to see a pic of that, sometimes the mistake paintjobs turn out the best. i met a guy with a CRX that had his friend paint it, and it was supposed to be a metallic dark red, and turned out as a sweet super-metallic bronze, EXACTLY like his Rota wheels. looked so freakin sweet.

well some purples do look good but my mom drives a purple minivan. and its uglier than dirt. well ford calls it midnight red but its ugly

its not that bad of a purple, its got a metallic deep darkish shade to it. lol
its really hard to describe.

I'm sure it will grow on you. Who knows, you may really like it once you finally get used to it!

 

My civic is super sonic blue, but it looks purple if you ask me. Looks sweet IMO.

I'm definitely anxoius to see pics. I've seen Purple done quite tastefully actually. Mostly only on older muscle cars, but i dont see why it wouldnt work on a new car. Get them pics up ASAP
