Default My DIY rims + Big update + Pictures (blue EG hatch)

Aright guys, it’s been a pretty busy couple weeks for the car so I figured I’d post a few pics up, kinda like a progress story lol
I apologies for the **** pictures, I lost my memory card so had to use video stills

So a received this package a while ago, hmm what could it be?

That’s right, a jdm centre armrest, finally some storage space…

Well I had to test it! :-P, comfort never looked so cool!

Fitted, looks and feels the business!

Then a few days later I got a VTI lip, tight fit but got there in the end..
Lol, almost took it clean off when pulling out the driveway!!!

An overview of the car

Now onto the wheels…
Be meaning to sort out my tatty old rims, ideally I’d like some 15/16” Rotas, but can’t afford them at the moment.

Old rims…UH!

Anyway I was going to refurb my wheels black, but they were in such bad condition it would have taken forever, luckily I came across these 14” Honda wheels, couldn’t turn them down really, picked them up from the Taunton meet for the quality price of £45! That’s with almost new Dunlop tyres on there! (Big thanks to AJ, top man!)

Also at the meet I bought a new head unit from Howler (thanks again!!) , matches my amber dash lighting but I haven’t had time to fit it yet :-O

Back to the wheels…

They were in almost perfect condition so that meant less work for me

Gave them a good sand (most boring and tedious job ever, never again!)
Then masked up, also a boring job.

Gave them a coat of primer, at which point I thought they look really nice in white, maybe I should spray them white instead? Decided againsts as I would have to clean them more often, plus I’d already bought the black paint! lol

First coat of black, really pleased at this point

After a 2nd coat of black and 3 coats of laquer, well chuffed! I surprised myself with how good the finish is, they are pretty much flawless :-)

While the wheels were off I gave the calipers a coat of yellow paint, love it or hate it!

Rims all finished with a coat of wax

Then I fitted them to the car, so bloody cold my fingers almost fell off :-(.

When I first put them on I was a bit iffy, I thought they didn’t look quite right, but I think it was just such a shock change from before…
But I’m really pleased now I’ve got used to them, I think the black goes really well with the yellow calipers…plus I never thought 14” wheels could look this good lol!!

lol yes I know it needs lowering more but I can’t afford it yet!

I like these 3 shots a lot..

So yeah I’m really happy with how they turned out, plus knowing I did them myself makes it all the better!
So for £45 + £15 on supplies I have a decent set of wheels !!
(Need some tyre black stuff though! Lol)

I’m finally somewhat happy with the car at the moment, things done:

DIY colour coded mirrors, rub strips, + debadged bonnet
DIY refurbed 14” black Honda wheels
Megan Racing catback + decat
Lowered 60mm on P.I springs (more like ****ing 30!)
Omni Power lower control arms
VTI front lip
Jdm centre armrest console
New headunit

The car is pretty much made up of DIY jobs and 2nd hand parts lol, but being at 6th form 5 days a week I don’t have much money and I’d rather save up for next car instead of throwing money at this!

To do soon:
Sort out suspension, uprated shocks, slam it!
Bonnet respray? Or new one?
Sort rust out? Lol

Cheers for looking, hope I haven’t put you to sleep!
