I just had a accident with my car , its a civic 2002. Nway i want to repair it but i though since im gunna redo the front ,i want to customize it.I need some suggestions oncustomization cause i dont knowalotabout cars.Like i have no idea what to get and were i can get it. damn thats quite the fender bender. Well if your really new to cars there is no way you'll be able to do it cuz there is going to be quite a bit of welding and body work that has to happen, you need a new radiatior, new front bumper, fender, hood, headlight, and im sure more that i cant see. Not to mention that these all need to be painted and fitted properly. You could order some aftermarket stuff if you wanted to but there is a lot of work that will need to be done.

 

Are you serious?..Not to sound like a *** hat or anything, but it looks like a write off to me, unless the picture just makes it looks bad, it looks like you have alot of structural damage that would need ALOT of realignment,cutting,welding in new parts, ect.

 

well what am i supose to do then? i cant leave the car like that. I have to fix it , so i thgouh instead of gettin the honda orignal parts i get new ones. I dont know how much its gunna cost. Any sugestions?

just get it repaired through your insurance and put it back to factory specs, trust me, you won't regret it, i thought the same exact thing and then decided it was a stupid idea thank goodness!

 

The thing is im not insured , so i have to pay from my own pocket to repair the car. dont ask why , its a long story. So i got the car at 10thousand and it looks like i have 4 to 5 thousand to repair it. So should i sell it like that for a thousdand or repair it? if u repair it , should i get the original part or not?

Well, first things first..go get quoted, you cant drive is so just try and bring it really detaild pictures, one from each side/front and one with your hood open. Then go shop around at body shops and mechanic shops because you need a new rad thats forsure,its kinda hard to see what else is wrong machanicly. But you should get on that, at least you will know approximately what you have to spend to get it fix or even just running. Then if you want to spend that much (how much you get quoted), you can think about aftermarket parts. But im going to tell you now..its not going to be cheap.

 

like what mill$ said, its gonna cost a lot of money. You need to try to figure out if anything but the radiator got damaged on the engine.

 

get it repaired by a shop, and THEN customize it. If your going to sell it in the future, you're going to want the OEM parts to put back on the car. I know where your comin from though man, i did the same thing with my car and posted a very similar question, and i got all the same answers. If there any damaga to the actual frame itself, a shop needs to do that. Period. If you just got in a fender bender and the ONLY thing that got cracked/damage was the bumper, then i can see you MAYBE getting an aftermarket bumper for it, but for your situation, bring 'er to a shop .

 

Im not saying im gunna repair the car by myself. Im taking it to a garage to fix it. I wont sell the car in the future ,so im keeping the car. but i dont want to pay twice , i dont want to repair it , pay for the original parts and then later pay for the other parts. hey Fliphkd , how did u repair ur car? and is there a good site were i can get parts for my car like headlights and stuff. Sorry im new with cars so i dont know any sites exept ebay.
