No beep indication when I leave my lights on (2002 Honda Civic LX)

I believe that when I turn my car off but fail to turn off the headlights that there should be some type of beeping noise indication. However, my car doesn't do this. I checked the fuses and they all seem to be in fine. Is there anything else that would cause this problem? Every now and then I'll park and forget to turn my lights off so my battery dies.

it could be the back up fuse 10a or a bad driver door switch which is located in the driver door jam. its held inplace with a phillips screw. you can pick this part up for about $5-$10 at your local dealership
the part # is 35400-S5A-013

I actually discovered that there's a sensor switch on the door which can disconnect and cause this problem. Youtube at
helped. It was a fairly easy fix but difficult to fish out the sensor.
