Default okay, I better start taking care of my paint

my dad hasn't been very "special" about the paint, and I am not sure how to begin.
well, I'll post up a picture but the paint is in a serious bad condition(I think).
It's black., I believe stock, uhm and I want to start taking care of the paint.
I saw the DIY thread about taking care of black paints, but then, if I start taking care of the paint, will it help to look better? or will it just stay like what it isnow? thanks

If the clear coat has been burned off by ultraviolet light from the sun, there is little you can do except have it painted. I remember a coworker who had her dull, sun-damaged paint buffed and polished until it was very shiny again. Unfortunately, wax is no where near as protective as a paint clearcoat, so within three months, her paint was dull again.

Save up for a paint job and make sure they apply a clear coat. After that, use Rejex polish. It is by far the best (protective) polish out there. You can get it at www.x-autoproducts.com

If the clearcoat is burned off, your paint will not have that showroom shine. Even with no wax or polish,a clearcoat will shine. Once it's gone, it's time to repaint. I've seen many red cars that are now pink because the clearcoat was not protected adequately.

Embed a picture so we can see how bad it is.
