Default Painting Side Mirrors

I have the LX and I'm looking at painting my side mirrors to match the body color. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on the prep materials I would need?

good paint foremost. plus a good sprayer.

also use good primer underneath and a good clearcoat on top. and do it with with calm wind conditions (preferrably inside a closed space).

body shops charge hundreds of dollars to paint small pieces on a car partly because the paint is so expensive.

you may want to try krylon, however, that has a new plastic-bonding paint. it's cheap and if it works, you saved a ton of cash.

lots of wet sanding, lots of prime, lots of paint, LOTS of clear coat. Make each coat really really light and even and take your time, especially if your doing it with a spray paint can. Its possible to do it with the can and wihtout a gun, but you just need to take your tim and get the right shade of paint. Usualy auto shops cna take a look at your VIN number and custom mix you a can of your own paint for not that much money.

Yeah thanks a lot guys, I'm a DIY er and I cant wait till the warmer weather hits. The mirrors should not be too difficult and they are easy to remove and re install. I would take pride doing it myself and it won't cost too much. I was also thinking about painting the license plate piece on the trunk.

I did it, along with all my the black that used to be on my car. I actually used a paint gun and good automotive paint, for the outside of your car..I think you should go the same rute. There are DIYs for spray cans. This is one of the best I found. Click ME

the shop that did it should have atleast wetsanded the final clear and used a buffer with a polish on it to get it to the finished stage. if they didn't, take it back to them, and have them do it.
