Painting Wiper arms
My wiper arms are looking bad, they are losing there orignal paint, i want to paint them silver. What is the process for prepping and painting them, i've never done any paint work with cars.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well take them off, sand them with about 400 grit until most of old paint is gone, clean with rag and lacquer thinner, let dry and then paint with a high temperature silver (in case you live somewhere hot) 2-3 coats, or until it looks good, let dry and install... good luck and post some pics

Actually, I was going to paint mine silver and I got them sanded down and they were a nice silver-ish\Chrome after I polished them and decided to leave them un-painted and everyone compliments them and I tell them there just stock! LOL

But I did mine black in the start of summer, I just scuff them up with some high grit sandpaper, take all the loose paint of, I used some paint remover (not really necessary), gave them a wash. Then put of 3 thin coats of flat black rust paint. They still look sick...

^ that looks great, jhs! I honestly can't even tell you painted them.
Anyway, I just did mine like two months ago... I took them off, took mid-grit sandpaper (I think it was like 320 or 400 grit) to them, and once I had everything all nice and scuffed up I sprayed 'em with a few thin coats (like 4 or 5) of satin black krylon fusion (it's the only black spray paint I had on hand at the time and I'm too lazy/cheap to get more). They look pretty good imo
Krylon Fusion.... it's not just for plastic anymore

Are They Hard To Take Off Then? And To Re-Install?
