yaa actually i got in an accident and rear ended a jeep so i had to do a full front end fix. like all fenders bumber hood radiator and radiator support had to be replaced...i had to knock out the spot welds on the read support and re weld a new ones and all new front parts. the only thing that made it throught he accident was my lip.GOT TO LOVE POLYURETHANE =] but ya everything else is all oem honda parts and the hood is vis cf so its all good. and all that kind of put a hole in my wallet but i just bought a paint gun, so hopedfully ill get it painted it the next week or so. but ya thanks for the comments guys. HTe car is actually getting a major over hall. i dont know if you read my other thread but cause of the accident the gsr ir out and te=he y7 is back in..ya i know nasty. so i actually bought a hydrolocked k20z1 for only 500 so im going boost on it and im really excited =] =] =]

dang that sucks... id hate to pull a motor and replace it with something weaker

im pushing my paint job back for awhile.LOL going to at least be another 2months before i paint mine, but then again im doing a whole paint job! and waiting till my parents leave for florida. till then im stuck with helping them paint the camper and then start packing most of his tools... i try to hide some every year but sometimes he finds them and takes them with him.LOL he thinks he needs all his tools just incase the motor home breaks down so he can fix it. i got basics but sometimes i run across a special tool i need.

well to paint the front end i would suggest taking the parts off and painting them at as flat as posible... paintings not hard ya just need to allow enough time between coats and let dry really good before touching it. runs are probably the worst thing for newbie painters because they rush the paint, either to much paint with a vertical part or not enough time between coats.
the basics are just scuff up everything and clean it with good cleaner before painting! if ya see a shiny spot in the primer/paint then scuff it up or the paint wont stick! and clean all of it off before painting because dirt can ruin the paint and fish eye the panel which means you have to start all over! been there done that enough times
and also wear a hat at least. or go big and wear a paint suit. im a hairy guy so my arm hair and hair have gotten in my paint job before which also sucks.LOL

dont worry to much about orange peel because as soon as the paint is dry enough to sand all ya have to do is sand the area good with fine sandpaper and buff it back to a shine for a smooth slick reflection!

also if you want a quicker dry time after painting the parts setup some halogen lights around the parts to help dry the paint quicker.
does help but doesnt help your electrical bill.LOL

well with coats id say 3-5 should be plenty.

tuffest parts to paint is the plastics like the bumper cover..... ask paint supplier what they sugest for plastic bumpers.... you dont want the paint to peel off like you see alot of bumpers out there. kinda like mine as well right now in primer. LOL

i blame the car wash guy for spraying the bumper.LOL
i didnt really care about the primer sticking really good on the bumper because id have to strip it anyways and use the special bond stuff to the plastic. i just didnt want to rock a black bumper all winter.LOL
