THANKS

i have seen that hot rod flat paint before and it does look pretty nice... ill definatly have to check out that site more after work today.... 150 is definatly doable..

but id still need to primer under it to get all the deep scratches out for sure....

ya the sealing part was another worry.... after i do all this body work i dont want the bondo to just get wet and pop out...
and rattle cans HELL NO not for a full car! there is no rattle can job that matches al the way around the car!
i can spray i mean spray can BUT thats if i dont care... i painted my old 84towncar from the front doors to the rear bumper with rattle cans and did a nice job BUT i dont want to do that! that is to rice IMO... i want it to at least lay down smooth/even/and match color all over ;)

well no more time to type... gotta haul @ss to work.LOL

I think you should just go ahead and paint the whole car. You might be able to get your money back out of it...there are a lot of dumb people in this world who will see a shiney civic and think its awesome like the fast and the furious. Ive seen plenty of civics near me go for over blue book when they shouldnt. And either way, you would end up with TWO sick civics if you did all this! Maybe just go with a Maaco job if you dont want to spend all that much. For the most expensive clear coat job with labor and dents fixed they just quoted me $1700.

RE: to primer or paint or leave alone?

first off I WILL NEVER GO TO MAACO!!!!!!!!!

i do all the work myself! start to finish... its the cost of the paint that can hit the bank hard!
its not the work involved.....

stock paint is never to cheap.....
i wanted to put it back stock green but i wanted a custom touch added to the paint like some fine flake or something... but i just dont see puting ruffly 1k bucks into the paint supplies for something that theres no way i could recoupe the supply cost if i did ever have to sell the car.... let alone labor for all the work it needs....

the flat black does sound like a good idea tho....

tho man im looken at those paints and its still gonna run ruffly 300 bucks for paint. thats just about the same cost for regular paint... :( so its the same cost basicaly. guess that would just the same as going ahead and painting back stockish.

o man the plot thickens  i do like the flat black idea but the cost is just the same to switch the whole coor to lat black or back to stockish green color...
man this is confusing!!!!!!
2 good ideas and both just about the same amount of work and cost/supplies.
i could just scream!

i wouldnt want to just primer the car after all the body work to have the spots rust out from under and bondo to fall out! so definatly dont want that....

looks like ill have to start saving up after all :(
