Default projection head lights

Why do a lot of these projection lights have 2 differents spots for bulbs (1 for the low and 1 for the high) when my civic '99, has a dual filament bulb for lows and highs?

The open one (you can see the bulb) is the high beam and the projector bulb is the low beam.

spots for bulbs (1 for the low and 1 for the high)
Yes I know, but my question is,why are they that way when my car uses a dual filament bulb, one for the high and one for the low. Wouldn't getting these require some splicing?

well no splicing needed.....
some wiring alittle depending on the wiring that comes with it.... the projectors i bought for my 94 has a total PLUG IN PLAY.... plugs right into the stock wire harness....

and for my 99s HID bulbs i did i had to use some SPADE terminals slide into the stock harness for them to work. BUT no cutting needed.... very simple....

For the HID bulbs did you buy 2 sets than? 1 for the high and 1 for the low, because I know some kinds (like the ones onzium sells) have a a regular halogen one built into the HID bulb and one set uses and electromagnet to move it.

The reason I was asking is my dad is going to give me a set in a couple of months.

well either way ya go you have to buy the BULBS for the headlight housings!!! most projectors are H1 i believe..... stock headlight housings are H4... i have H4 cheap HIDs just low beam HID and high beam cheap bulb dual fillement...

tho with these HID low, and regular high beams.LOL the high beams are a joke!
what i did with my 99 is add OEM foglights to lite up the area beter...

ditto, the HIDs are sooo much brighter than the regular lows AND highs.

Both my "high" beams are actually burned out anyway, apparently. As a demonstration to a friend the other night I switched to my high beams and I only have the parking lights. That was scary. I checked the bulbs to sees that both were out. I'm not going to replace them either because, well, I never use 'em!!

Do you mean at the same time? Or as HIDs?
