Default Rear wiper help?

Okay, a while back, I posted a thread about the things I am going to do to my Civic, and I promised pictures. Work has been keeping me busy, and I now finally have some time off. I still do not have pictures.

Anyways, back to the issue at hand.

My Civic is an STD, so no rear wiper. I found a complete hatch, with wiper, and with the electronic controller thing. The car is at an auto wrecker, and I am wondering if anyone has done this before, or written a tutorial on how to do it.

What parts do I all need off of the car? It has everything, I just need to know what I will need to strip out.

Any help at all will be appreciated.

I'm not sure if those are prewired for the wiper or not, But you will need the switch, the motor and wiper arm (of course) and I think there is a relay back there that you will need as well. I would just swap the whole hatch over and get the switch out of it. Like I said i'm not sure if they are pre-wired for the wiper since it's an option but you may have to wire it up your self.

For sure I can get the whole hatch. Is the relay in the hatch? Or will I have to look for it?
Also, do you know where the wiper fluid hose runs from?

Yeah that's another thing, I forgot. Your more than likely going to need the washer bottle too because it has two separate pumps. and all the wires for that. It will be a bit of a project. The hoses should run up in the headliner. I'm kinda basing this off my hatch. Mines a 96' though. I'm not real familiar with that body style. I'm just trying to point you in the right direction and tell you what I know.

well, i got the hatch and a few other goodies today. if you see in my siggy, my car is a Cx, or an STD. this car i am looking at has power steering... tilting steering column... and the wiper. I got the hatch with the wiper and spray nozzle. here is the odd part... there is a line running all the way from the back to the front for the fluid! i just cut the line, unbolted the hatch, and got the essential parts. i gotta get the pump too, and the power steering, and the steering column. you were of some help, and i did not expect it to be set up with that long fluid line.

the other random goodies were the rear passenger OH **** handles, and a garment bag hook thingy. Not exactly functional, but they are nice to have I suppose. And yes, I got the switch arm.

I guess now I shall start another thread elsewhere in the forum about power steering removal... Well, I will search first.

I will keep you guys posted on my project! =D
