Default Removing head from 86 CR-X, should I repair fenders too?

I got a used 86 CRX SI recently and it needs some engine work. Along with some mechanical shortcomings, it has a crack in each fender too. I'm curious if I'd save much time taking these off and replacing them now. If that's the case, does anyone have some recommendations for the fenders? Toss them and get new ones? Can I repair these fenders to not show the cracks? (Btw, by "cracks", I mean cracks in the metal, not the paint. This car is a salvage title and those cracks were probably from an accident)

The front bumper could use a repaint and definitely needs to be remounted. Would I also save time dealing with this while the engine bay's relatively empty?

My friend just bought a 87 CRX... I thought the fenders were plastic??

86 and 87 are different generations. Mine looks like painted sheet metal. It could just be dark plastic under the paint, though.

Woops, my mistake. I'll double check the fender and post back later tonight. If it's metal, I'll post some pics showing the cracks.
