rims chipping!

when i bought my civic they already had rims...there in bad shape its horrible....the paint on them i guess is coming off...there alloy silver looking...any way to possibly repaint them besides powdercoating like spraypaint them w/ some kind of rim paint? i dont wanna spend 300$ to get them painted and i dont wanna buy new rims right now cuz im savin for the motor...

I say with the cheap pricing of rims, get some off Ebay and toss those! You can get some nice Motegi rims shipped for a little over $400..... when I was younger wheels cost a small fortune, take advantage of the market now!

i painted my wifes rims for about 20 bucks. get the dupli-color wheel paint. search here for info on it. its been discussed before.

dont forget clear coating. The guys at the auto store were saying up and down that my buddies 4 runner wheels ( when we were giving it a gun metal color) were going to peel in a couple of weeks if we didnt use clear coat. So we did, and that was 6 months ago. Still looks great

its been about a month and a half (i think) since we did my wifes, and they still look perfect. the clear will make them more glossy, and she didnt want that.
