i have an ej1 and 17s sucked on it... it was a really rough ride and you HAD to swerve for potholes of any size... i would say get some like 15" rota circuit 8s (or 10s)

I wouldn't put them on even if it was lowered. Go with something smaller. 16's being the largest.

17's will be fine. I rough ride but they will look good. 16's would be better though.
