How come they have a bad rep ?

They do? I am getting some Rotas after new years and I havent heard anything bad about them.

some people don't like them because their wheels are knockoffs of other companies' designs.

But they are an off shoot company of Motegi so wouldn't they naturally have similar designs? I think Rotas have the best look... black w/polished lip... I want the 17s.

I mean the knockoffs of Spoon, Mugen, Work, Volk, etc.
Also Motegi is part of American Racing, Rota is based in the Phillipines, I don't think they are related.

ppl dun like em cuz their knock offs and cuz they are extremely popular and tons of ppl have em. as for the actual wheel, theres nothing wrong with em.

I'm getting Rota Wheels, I thought they might have bad craftmanship or something along those lines.
