If you can do it..do it. But as long as the body shop give you warrity on the work, then your good.

Body shops do a good job if you tell them to... just have them label what wires go where...

If the shop does it, chances are they will do it by the book, and install relays and switches according to the manufacture type set-up, If you do it, it might be a little different.

If you let a shop do it, you will want them to jot down a little picture of what wires were installed where, and to what switch, fuse, etc... This way if you sell the car, or ever need to service the lighting, you won't have to spend hours tracing wires to find the one thats faulty.

Plus, the warranty will probably fix that anyway, if they give you a year or more on their work.

If they don't, I wouldn't let them touch my car.

Things to look for at a paint shop :

1. Heated or cooled storage area for painted and prepped cars. *Also locked if outside, to protect
your ride*
2. No angry customers demanding a fix-it job.
3. A quality paint booth thats well lit and has some sort of filtration system.

You can ask a paint shop owner to show you some of his work, If he is proud of it, he should have some pictures of special or memorable cars he's painted, and or maybe one in that shop you can get up close and personal with.

Ask to have the numbers or contact information of some of his previous clients, call them and inform them that you are considering doing business here and ask them if they rec. his work, and or if they have had any problems out of the paint since the service was performed.

Look around the shop and see if everyone looks happy and are hard at work, not sitting around chattering in some busted up clothing and covered in paint.

As far as the warranty is concerned, most paint shops should probably offer some sort of basic coverage. You just have to ask what that is, and exactly what it covers. If you drive off and the hood cracks 2 weeks later, after normal use and propper storage, something's wrong!
