Default Steering wheel?

Well I have been looking into a after market steering wheel, and would like to know the pros and cons of it, will it prevent to passenger air bag to work, will I get a ticket or will my srs light go on? Thanks Fellaz.

SRS light will definitely go on, and if the SRS light is on neither airbag will work. You can wire in a resistor (I don't know exactly how, you'll have to search for info on it) to trick the system into thinking the airbag is there, and then the SRS light will stay off and the passenger airbag will still work.

Pros of aftermarket steering wheel is that it is smaller, which makes you able to turn quicker; and that it (usually) looks better

Cons would be not having a driver side airbag (or this could be a pro... in my case it wouldn't matter because I always wear my seatbelt and i'm tall so my seat is too far back from the steering wheel for the airbag to do anything for me); and it might be hard to sell the car if you ever decide to because someone who wants the airbag would not like that.

I don't believe you will get a ticket but I am not 100% sure.

More pros: You can get a quick release set up and be able take your steering wheel out of the car to prevent theft a bit more.

That's all I can think of right now.

what year civic do you have? If 96-00 you can buy an OEM s2000 steering wheel, best looking wheel you can buy for a civic imo and still keep all airbags, horn, and cruise control.

The s2000 steering wheel does look really good. Thats what I would probably go for if I were shopping for a new one.

I like the S2K wheels a lot more than the majority of aftermarket steering wheels Ive seen. They arent easy to come by in my area though.
