Okay I live in californa and i am very unsure of the legal tint shade and am kinda confused... Some tints that i hear about are % shaded and there are other ones that go by the % of visible light let in. Which is the standard? And any good tips to find a good tint shop that wont rip mee off?

 

35-40% seems to be the legal limit everywhere you go... I am 20% and cops dont care... the % is of how much light can pass through the window.. low % means little light can pass... high % means a high amount of light!

 

tinting the fronts any % isnt legal in cali. the rears are up to you.

 

I guess california has special rules because there probably is alot of need to see the driver. I think just a light tint, maybe 50% would give you a little dark look but a cop wouldnt give you problems, just roll your window down all the way before he walks up to you.

 

Just make sure you get a lifetime warrenty on the tint turning purple/bubbling and the legal % is different for everystate, just google it and you will find what your state laws are.

 

yeah check the laws, up here in Michigan you cant have ANY tint on the front, but you can straight up spray-paint your rear windows if you wanted and its legal (lol seriously, theres a guy up here wiht a Cavalier and that's how he tinted his windows), so just chekc hte laws about it.
