^^ He said stock tint is the only thing legal.... Are you suggesting 5% in the rear (rear what? rear windshield, rear windows, or both?), and no aftermarket tinting in the front??

Or did you just decide to comment without reading the thread? (the OP stated that it is technically illegal to have any type of aftermarket tint on the windows)

 

in cali its illegal to have aftermarket tints on the windshield and the front driver and passenger side windows. the rear window and and rear side windows you can tint whatever you want.

 

this is what i was refering to about the front tint so yes i did read the thread. if you could find a company that did a 70% then you could do it correct? and id do 5% in all the rears

 

here is my tint setup. 5% in the rear windows and 35% in the front windows and 5% tint strip on the front windshield. i live in California as well and hven't been harassed about them

 

your setup is kinda what i was looking for. however, im just really paranoid about the front being 35%, maybe being too dark for the popo down here. i dont know maybe things are different down here since i live close to la where all the gangs are haha. i was thinking of maybe 50% in the fronts. the strip on the windshield is a good idea though and i believe that it is legal up to 3 or 4 inches.

 

its legal up to 4 inches but i have 6 inches tint strip., i believe. 50% would be hard to find, but my friend did find a 75% or 70% in sacramento.

5% tint up front for me too, mines about 6 inches which is just about legal for NYC:

here is my car 5% front/rear and a strip in the front it is longer on the sides than in the middle i like it alot more than just a straight strip all the way across
