they are functional if you track your car. easier for the tow truck to tow you. and also if your car is lowered, it won't mess up your front bumper when you get towed off the track.

I knew that, but what i meant by i don't understand them is the people who put them on and never go to the track.... if you are using the car on the track and have the car lowered then yes i understand then

ya i work for a towing company and its exactly that, low cars have tow hooks because its a real PAIN to get under the car and attach it to bring it on the flat bed, some drivers wont do it if its low because its a pain to hook them up and watch as you bring it up that your not hitting it or damaging the bumper, even if your with CAA or AAA..but most companys will try and get it done, flat bed calls are worth more money...alot BMWs have the tow hooks in the front, you pop off this plastic piece and put the tow hook in, very easy

Well my dad works for a tow company and they tow AAA's and what they did was nail 2by6's together to change the angle of the flat bed I have a kit on my car and I had to cut the oem hooks for the kit to fit on.I have wanted to buy a hook but there really is no need with the 2by6's I don't have a problem with any of my car hitting not even a little muffler scrape cause wouldnt want to mess up the chrome. This is a picture of my front of my car and not much clearance.I will take pics of the boards when he gets home to show you all. They are the only company in town that does it though.
