yea....it's a 97. but i did have to take off the whole bumper because of those screws underneath. but in doing so i f****d up my fog lamps....the passenger one either went out...or the wiring got disconnected or something. i am sooo mad. cause i just got them on and working. aahh!! lol. but at least i got the grille in. just have to see what's up with the fogs.

I know for a fact that on 1996-1998 civics, you can leave the bumper on. But w/ 1999-2000 civics the whole bumper must be removed. So Spark, i don't know what you did. I did the install on my friends 98 ex and we didn't need to take off the bumper.

i'm telling you...i tried to do it that way but it wouldn't come out....so i took off the bumper and saw that there were screws on the inside of the bumper underneath the grille. i don't know how you guys did it...but i couldn't get to the screws without removing the bumper.

I just installed my factory grill back in my 97 without taking the bumper off. You guys are overcomplicating it, all you do is reach your hand through the lower grill and put the 4 lower screws with their washers.

i dont have the oem grill on my civic and im just going to put the type r

one on and theres no screws on the bottom side of the grill just the holes

where you screw the grid onto the actual grill. My car got into an

accident so it sucks cause i tried to match up the grill yesterday and one

side wont snap in properly, not sure what to do? i guess im going to try

and take off the front bumper (which thats a bitch to line that up again

cause i had to cut off the front support to fit the stock bumpers after the

accident)
