Im going to be getting a blue underbody neon kit for my 95 civic. i was just wondering if anybody can help me out and give me some pointers on installing it. i like to do most of the things on my car myself and would hate to have to pay someone.

 

eh im not a big fan, but I imagine it would be fairly simple to install. Run a power wire to a toggle switch inside the car, then run a power wire from the switch to the + wire on the neon kit. Ground the neon kit. Flip the toggle switch and they go on. If u wanna make it so they only work when the key is in the car then run a relay to the ignition or soemthing else that only works when the cars on. There, Done.

 

pcupo12 i know most of the wiring part about it becuase my brother did it already, but i need help with the actual install of attaching it to the car. what i can see under the car their isn't any space to put them.

 

just go to the DEPOT and get some brackets and screws. Just do what you gotta do. Remember, you dont want to actually SEE the neon bars, you just wanna see the fast and the furious "Glow effect"

Just remember to FUSE the wiring, between the neons and the relay box AND between the relay box and the switch.

 

oh, and blue is illegal in MOST places...

 

The neon kits are actually not legal in a lot of places, regardless of color. They create a distraction on the road, thus they are a hazard. If you have red or blue neons ANYWHERE outside your in NJ you can get locked up for impersonating an emergency vehicle, you most likely WONT but it has happened.

 

ehhh....in NJ you get locked up for anything... I had an argument with a cop when I went to get gas with a gas can on the atlantic city expressway...he said that it was illegal to walk on the highway....
