Default Vent Visors Help

hi, i am thinking about getting window vent visors for my 99 civic coupe. I am thinking about getting the in channel ones and not the ones that uses 3M tape. I am thinking about dark smoke ones. I am looking into weathertech or ventshade. But couldn't find the dark smoke€ ones for weathertech. Anyone know which is brand is better or are there other better ones. How easy was the installation and which of these looks better. Posting some pics of vent visors on your car would really help.

First off, even the in channel ventvisors still use the 3M tape. The installation is a little more work than the outside the channel visors but is still very easy. The ventvisor versions come with very easy to follow instructions. First you have to losen the bolts that hold on your side mirrors and slide the front tab of the vent visor in between the mirror housing and the door frame. Then there is a tab which runs the length of the window which is insert in the channel of weather striping where the window rolls up. (note they provide and alcohol wipe to clean the channel out good because this is where the 3m tape is adhered) Finally there is a tab on the end of the ventvisor that is towards the back of the car which slides in between the door frame and the weather striping. Each window takes around 10mins to install.

If you are in a cold climate right now do to winter weather I would suggest holding off on this until spring unless you have a heated garage to do it. It just helps the 3M tape adhere better and also makes the plastic ventvisor easier to work with and less ap'd to crack on you if its real cold.

There are ones that connect with bolts, not all use 3-M tape.

Props to the OP for not taking the "easy route," getting the stick on ones, and eventually watching them flap in the breeze

iam leaning towards ventshade because they have the dark smoke ones available, while weathertech only has the light smoke. do you know the difference between ventshade and weathertech?

I have seen that hideous sight a few times on ventvisors that are mounted outside the window using 3M tape to stick it to the door frame. However that would bemuch harder todowith the in channel ones even if they use 3M tape or not due to the two tabs on the end being held inside the door frame itself. Something would have to catch on them or come apart in order to get them out, and in that event it would probably just crack them. They aren't all that strong of plastic. ( I learned that the hard way installing a set in the cold weather once, SNAP!)
