There has to be a way to paint them and have it turn out somewhat decent.

I have the same thing happening, its not that bad, but I still want to prevent the rest of it from getting worse!

Mine look the same, I've been thinking of doing something about it as well. Anyone look into what metal is under the black?

DING DING!!... yeah the dealership over prices most stuff(well other then the OEM lip, i got one for $78 after my discount[8D]) but they wanted $88 for the cd pocket with door for my dad's 04 sedan.

But for that i would jus take it off and paint it

I had the same problem...I scraped the old off with a razor, taped them off very carefully and covered the car in plastic...got some textured black spray paint and it was like new! I didn't even think of taking them off (someone mentioned that), but tat would make it sooo easy.

Heh...also, when I was in marching band, we had bass drums (the big ones) with black rims and as the wood chipped away from being hit during rim clicks, we would use sharpies before compeititions to make them look like new...haha.

Yes the paint is the way to go. But I would sand it down a bit, and then use adhesion promoter, then prime, then paint. This stuff:

They sell it at all the major auto parts places. It really does work better then just priming and painting.

Yup, I did too. /\

It doesn't scratch off, chip or anything. Its really great for exterior parts too.

yea you could always go through the dealership, but i would try fixing it yourself first, and if it goes wrong then buy new ones
