Do they have any purpose, or are they just something else you can brag about buying?

 

They are just cosmetic and serve no real purpose. They actually hurt performance if anything since they restrict the amount of light that can pass through

yup, serves no purpose just an appearance mod that restricts the headlight performance

 

I mean if you like the look they give then nothin against trying it (I'm still on the fence about it I kinda like them but stock EK lights are great in my opinion too), or get vinyl adhesive and cut some eyelids out yourself. But before doing that I would cover up the top strip of your lights with a few layers of tape and shinning it at a wall and comparing it to without tape. This will give you an idea of how much light the eyelids will block

 

Oh i see. Well on my budget (my dad's wallet ) i don't think i can afford something like that. To me it seems kinda dumb droppin' money for something to restrict your car.

 

Yeah I bought a pair of eyelids for cheap on ebay and when I had my car painted I had himj paint them as well. I am always thinking about putting them on but idk how much more i like them.

 

Just for looks. I like them. 04 civic ex coupe. To me it gives a more aggressive appearance at night. Thats me though.

 

ya i like the looks of them IMO
they dont block to much light... now if you get some headlight covers now they REALLY block the light!!!!!
i put some on my civic and tho i liked the looks they just blocked WAY TO MUCH LIGHT OUTPUT!!!!

 

yeah on the 7th gens i wasnt worried about it blocking light. If it does on the model then youve got too big of eyelids. Im not sure on other generations though.
