I think you may have heard alot of speculation on it... People think if you put HIDs in low quality Projectors they will melt them... False... What you may be reading a little wrong is the Bulb Size causing compatability. OEM headlights need H4 bulbs... if you get projectors you cant use H4 bulbs anymore because usually the projectors are H1 size. That is the compatability issue... HIDs are God's gift to earth.

ok I know you have HID's did you buy just the hid bulbs or did you need like a new harness and a big huge box thing too. I have looked at a few conversion kits but it comes with alot of stuff I thought you could buy just the bulbs. I would like to get some h1 Hid bulbs if all you had to do was plug them in like stock

just be sure after ya have your projector housings be sure what bulb they take before ordering your hid kit.

the kit just includes the bulbs and the transformers, most people do just slap in the HIDs to thier stock wiring BUT why take a chance melting your stock wires! they arent that big anyways.....

alls ya need is some wire and a FUSE OF COURSE and a relay..... run power from the battery under the hood up to the closest headlight... and with the HIDs transformer wires they should have a small spade terminal which is used to slide into your headlights contacts... you can either cut off a few inches of that wire/ slide them into the factory harness... and then extend the headlights power wire to relay and use it to activate the relay.... then you also need to give the relay a ground which can be done with a short wire and a selftaping screw. JUST BE SURE wher ya put the screw that its not gonna go thru to long and punture anything! no hoses or wires basicaly.
then just run a output power wire from the relay to the HID transfomer and also ground the transformer at the relays ground also.
and for the other side headlight just run the relays single outputed power wire over to the other side and wire it to the transformer and give that transformer its own ground just like the other side.

it may sound difficult but its realy easy!
if your not sure about it you can always buy a headlight kit thats already been premade.
i used one for my dads jimmy. BUT just because i used it before for it to activate both low and high beams with the high beams on so my dad could see. its the same technic and all the wiring. just afew different conections.

thats who i bought mine from. all his kits are the same so dont be scared about what ever make car ya buy for.

or buy two kits and if your projectors have to bulbs then you could hook up your high and low beams to be at the same time to later.LOL not that youll need to with HIDs... but youll be able to flash other people with your lights again.

Eh, don't worry about HIDs getting hot or using too much power or anything like that. They run cooler and use less power than regular bulbs. The reason that some projectors say not to use them is due to the fact that that much light comming from a cheap/misaligned projector is like spraying oncomming drivers in the face with pepper spray. Also, any aftermarket HID set up isn't legal almost everywhere but if you keep it to a resonable light temp (4300K-6000K) I doubt anyone will care.

i always sugest upgrading your wiring!
do youwanna fry your stock wires? or burn out your headlight controls?
for something that can be avoided so easily!!!!!
ya they use less power after they have been fired up. but that initial turn on blast sucks alot of juice!
on my dads jimmys hids i put on when ya turn em on the have this realy bright flash fade out alittle then come back up to bright again.
that power draw alone was enough to worry me... short time use.. na youll probably never see a problem. BUT thier is a chance you can! dont go cheap on a 20dollar part and another 5 min of wiring......

everyone can tell ya dont worry about using fuses or upgrading wiring... but think about it its not thier ride that could have the problem later on......
do yourself the favor and upgrade the wiring! go over to any HID forum and youll read all over the place its always highly sugested to upgrade your wiring and run a relay to power them!
its realy not difficult!
but what ever..... if you dont care then ill stop carring also for ya. but on my ride im definatly upgrading wires and fusing everything!

its worth saving our car from burnen up or frying your electrical harness and devices.

yeah I don't think i want to be cheap with it I would rather do it right and try to keep my car well mantianed and stuff. I would like to get Hid but I myself and not very good at wiring but my friend is. thanx for the advice it has been helpful. I know understand it will cost me like 300 bucks for hid but it looks worth it I would only want them on the low beam anyway our cops around here would stop ya for sure
75% ticket increase in the last 3 months they are cracking down my buddy got a speeding ticket one night then anothe rthe next night. lost his lisence.

I totally disagree with having to upgrade the wiring... HIDS run cooler and pull less power than stock bulbs. The stock wiring harness is more than enough to handle HIDS. Its the cheap HID look a like bulbs which pull more power that you need to look out for.

HIDS are just plug and play... literally. It takes about 10 minutes to install. Like said they are illegal but if you keep the K rating close to 5000 you should have no problems. Im running 5300k's and they are a perfect white. Never been harrassed by a cop about them.

As for bulb types, just order the type that is compatable with your current headlight casing. Aftermarket usually require a different bulb type like everyone else said.
