Can anyone tell me if the 04/05 Honeycomb style OEM Civic COUPE grille (non-SI) will fit an 04 Civic sedan?

After looking at my own sedans grille, this is what I've found out.

The sedan grille is made of 2 pieces, the subframe attaches to the radiator support and the painted crossbar grille attaches to the subframe.

Based on the pictures I've seen, the coupe grille appears to be 1 piece that attaches directly to the radiator support.

Since I don't actually have access to a Civic coupe or it's grille, I want to make sure this is as simple a swap as it appears to be and that the coupe and sedan grilles are interchangeable.


So...

Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

 

I found out that the coupe and sedan grilles are interchangeable and can be swapped back and forth w/ no modification required.

I was looking for the same thing! I have an 04 sedan and I want the coupe grille but the dealerships keep telling me it wont work! How did you find out it would work? I figured it would... the hood is the same, the headlights are the same.... the grill should be the same as well

 

I don't have any pics as I have not done it yet but a few members on the 7thgencivic forums have done the swap and confirmed that they are interchangeable.

From what I recall, there was also a thread on that forum about swapping the 01-03 grill with 04/05 grills and they are not interchangeable.

 

I know 01-03 definetly wont work with 04... I have an 04 sedan and desperately want the coupe grille. I really like the black diamond... if you can send ANY pix of a coupe grille on a sedan I will go ahead and buy it.

 

Do you know if there is the OEM paint for the trim on the Coupe grill? The guy from Corrupt Motors says he can get me one for about 60 bucks but I wanna know if I need a specific color to match my car...

 

The Grille itself is unpainted black plastic. There is a piece of molding that is should be painted to match the car. hondaautomotiveparts sells the coupe grille and all pieces that go with it individually. They also offer the molding piece in pre-painted in factory colors (#2 in pics).

If you need to paint the molding or want to paint the entire grille, I know that dupli-color sells factory colored spray cans for $5-8 dollars and there are a few specialty websites that sell factory paint that goes on in a base/clearcoat combo for around $30-$40.

I've seen a chrome version of the grille by itself on ebay but have no idea as to the quality of it.
