Window tint
eh, i say go with the darkest tint you can on your car, especially if you're painting it a darker color. it's amazing at keeping the sunrays out during the summer, and it's not that difficult to see out, unless you're driving backwards down a dark alley...in which case you roll down your windows and stick yer head out to see where you're going. it's nice to have darker tint because it doesn't feel like everyone and their grandma stares at you when you're stopped at a light. but i would check to see what the legal limit is in your state first. as for tinting your car yourself, you can do it, but it takes some serious patience and practice. you could easily spend a ton of money trying to tint it yourself, getting fed up, then paying more money for a shop to do it. if you decide to use a shop, ask them if the tint is guaranteed not to fade/turn purple, and ask them if they can do your window in one piece. it is possible, i promise. mine was done in one piece.
