Window Tinting
Alright so im planning on getting it tint 15% and the legal limit here in AR is 20-25% side and 10% rear window. Do you think 15% and 20% gonna really be noticable in difference??? A LOT of people down here including cops have really heavy tinted window that you can barely see through it from outside.
go for the 20 in front and 15 in the back...my 95 coupe is lighter in the front and darker in the back and it flows....go for it and i agree that you should pay and get a guarantee, a good tint job is always worth the money. good luck with it
I've done it many times and if it's your first time,.. I'd say don't try it on a car you care about so much. You could always just take it off, but it gets messy. You will need some tint solution, a sharp blade style knife and a tint squeegee. Never ever use Windex or any ammonia based solution on tint. Not even for cleaning as it will turn your tint purple.
1)You will have to first clean the windows very good and make sure there is nothing on the inside and the outside.
2)Spray the solution on the outside of the window and lay the tint there with the sticky side facing out (the clear plastic is still not removed so the sticky part is not exposed yet)
3)Cut the tint to size using the edge or the window as a guide.
4)Once the tint is cut to size you take it off the outside and go on the inside and spray the solution on there.
5)Now you separate the clear plastic exposing the sticky part but as you are pulling it you spray it with solution so it doesn’t stick together or to anything else.
6)Once it is all take apart you lay it on the window and position it where you want it.
7)Now you use the squeegee to squeeze the water solution out from between the tint and the window.
It all gets messy, but the key thing is use the solution to your advantage and it will all go smoother. Don't use any cotton cloths to clean up the solution since they let out too much lint and it will get stuck inbetween the tint and your window leaving little tiny airbubble that will get worst and worst. For the last step a heat gun works nicely to dry it faster and get rid of all the bubbles that are left. Once again if you want your car to look nice don’t do the first tint job on it. Wait until you have a few under your belt before attempting one on a car you really care about. Hope this helps.
