Default Xenon Lights Legal?

Heard alot about peolpe getting stoped for Xenon lights. Is it true you can get stoped for using Xenons. Or are there a certain ttpe that are illegal? Can someone please clear this up for me as I just brought a Xenon kit and dont want that money to have been wasted.

if you buy an actualy HID conversion to get authentic Xenon lights, they say on the box not to use them with projector light(i.e. your new ones) so you could either a get bulbs from a ferrari(AK47 had them in his projectors, until the bastard sold his civic) or go out and get those fake Xenon bulbs that simulate HID's by color only but light output is the asme as a regular halogen bulb

Whats wrong with puting them in Projectors, dosnt the conversion kit compensate for it?

you can use HID's in OME lights sometimes you get glare though, and i can't remember exaclty the reasoning for not being able to use HID in projectors, but it does say thta they are not reccomended for use in projectors, i think it has something to do with the fact that projectors are a sort of magnifying glass, and with the intense light output of the HID's it would blind people, and possibly melt the housing(even though it uses less power and produces less heat) but don't quote me on it, if you really want, then go ahead and spend the extra $200-$500 for the HID conversion, then we could find out the answer to this mystery lol

Thanks, I'm gonna get the HID kit and see what happens, I only paid $40 for the lights at the swap meet anyway so replacing them wont be hard. Thanks again for the advice.

i think a lot of states the legal limit is 4000k which is identical to what comes on the bmws that are a hint of blue but mostly white... I know my friend has 8000k on his prelude and they are dark blue

No cop would ever tell the difference between 4k and 6k. The 8k, however is blue... very blue but still I dont think cops would ever care... 10k is illegal and obvious... i put a picture of my cars with HIDs in my post called "Look at this". I have the 4k in the benz, 6k in the audi and the 8k in the civic. Check it out... I personally think 6k is the best and I wish I would have put them in the civic.

Just stay below 6000K and you'll be fine.

You need to get projectors that are made for HID's. The reason why you can't use OEM projectors is because (without getting too mathmatical) the focal point of the bulb is farther away from the apex of the concave mirror, thus shooting your beam different than it should... ussualy blinding other drivers.
