I said they would look good on his ride. He asked for our opinions on taillights, and I gave him mine. I really don't see how they would look gross. I hate stock lights because ALL of the cars from the 80's and 90's have virtually the same style of taillights, looks like someone stuck some red, orange and white bike reflectors in front of a light bulb. At least the ones on the Altima look like someone actually put some thought into them instead of just slapping some taillights on and calling the job done.

Dude, the Altima ones look like they belong on a spaceship. No joke.

I don't know why you even brought it up though, it's not like Altima taillights are going to fit his Civic and he's not going to fabricate his own taillights. The taillights he already has look similar to Altima taillights, and he wants to get rid of them, so why would you think that he wants taillights that look like that? Your opinion, or rather choice to express it, doesn't make sense because he already implied that's not what he wants through his decision to get rid of his current ones.

And really, they didn't put that much thought into the design, that just happens to be the new in popular style on a lot of new cars' taillights. They're really just copying everyone else like everyone did back in the 80's and 90's like you said.

Maybe, but at least you can look at them and see differences in them between different cars, not just the shape. Altima's lights have noticeable differences from a Camry's taillights, have differences from a CX-7, have differences from a Cobalt. Some take a linear form, some are clustered together like a Altima. All the stock ones from the 90's and 80's looked like someone pulled them off of a wheel of a nine-year-old's bike. They looked blah, and got cloudy and looked like crap after a year or two. There are a few exceptions, like the round ones on the Corvettes from those years, but those are just about only on the luxury, and higher end performance cars.

Also, Altezza taillights look like sh*t on the Altezza. Therefore they also look like sh*t on anything else. applesauce, there's a reason all taillights look basically the same; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Kenny, I think the ones with the smoked signals would look great on your car since you have the black trim.

Quick fix. Go to your local parts store and buy a can of VHT niteshades. Tint your ricer tails until you can get new ones. Blacked out taillights will look better than ricer tails.

And they're altezzas. It's the first car that came with them so that's what I call 'em
