Default Your input on painting steel wheels

I´m wondering what color you think would look best on my steel wheels. Right now I´ve got some lovely chrome hubcaps from walmart, and I think it would look better with just the steel. The current black is a little faded with some small patches of surface rust, so I want to repaint it.

What color should I go with? Black? Gold? Gunmetal? I´m not quite sure how they would turn out. Does anyone have pictures of their painted steels?

One last question: Do I just prepare and paint the way I would with any other wheel (ie the way all the DIY paint threads say to), and use Duplicolor

Thanks a lot. Here´s a pic of my car by the way

lol... well you could just make it look like it used to and do black. But red cars with bronze wheels look hot... but uh... i dunno about bronze steelies........ i'd say its your decision. If it were me, id paint them black and save up for a nice set of wheels. (either 15,16 or 17's, nothing bigger, IMO)

yeah, I was actually leaning towards bronze but thought it might look a little weird. Basically the steels are just going to be temporary until I get some nice 16 inchers and then be my winter wheels as well.

What grain of sandpaper do you recommend, and also where would I get that silicone remover?

Thanks

what about just finding some honda hubcaps instead of the pseudo-chrome from wallie world? i personally wouldn't paint the wheels any color but black.
