Default HID retro... kinna

Im looking into HIDs and i know just droping the PnP kits in reflectors is a big no-no and i really am not the comfortable with cutting into a housing and trying to fit a projector, so heres what i was thinking... get ones of these to lights:

Im kinna leaning tward the 2nd one... then in a few months pick up this kit:

and then just pop some philips xtreme power bulbs in the high beams. thoughts?

Better than HIDs in halogen reflector headlamps, but still not ideal. They'll have a cutoff, which makes things much better, but the lamp is still designed with a halogen bulb in mind (a halogen filament is a straight line whereas an HID bulb creates an arc across two contacts). Basically, it'll put more light out in a usable pattern, but the pattern will still have dead spots.

Here's what HIDs in aftermarket halogen projector headlamps will look like:

As you can see, there's an intense spot in the center of the beam pattern, and less light at the edges of the beam pattern. Not as good as true HID projectors, but still way better than HIDs in the factory reflector headlamps.

I wasn't really thinking about doing a drop kit to thouse projectors. But the description said they were designed for halogen projectors

Yeah, that's my fault... I just clicked the TRS link and read the description again. I'd say you'll be fine if you use that kit.

The first link ones look best to me. I'm not a fan of aftermarket headlights, but I do remember how much 5th gen headlights suck.

Yeah they do suck pretty bad on 5th gens.

Between those two i would go with the first set. looks a lot more "simpler" compared to the 2nd.

Not the same company, but the same design as the first one you linked to; I had no complaints about them and the light output was much better than stock.
