Whats everyones opinions on the Mtv show "Pimp my ride"?


The worst part to me is that they are fixing up peoples cars who obvioulsy dont even give a care about their own car and now they give them this 30k invested into car. Do you really think they care for it? upkeep it? watch it so it doesnt get stolen? park far away to get no door dents?

I mean my car is relatively stock on the outside and I still park a friggen mile away from where ever Im going

 

My thoughts are pretty level with yours. However, I will say that some of those cars are received or bought in a condition that really isn't worth throwing down some serious cash if you're just some young kid or blue collar worker. What also kills me is how they just say, "Hey, we just rebuilt the engine and rewired the entire electrical system. I would much rather see how they're doing all of that.

I think a far better idea would have people right up proposals for things they would like to do to their rides, but obviously can't afford. Whoever has the best ideas, gets to bring in their car and West Coast Customs helps them with their goals. Plus, they would be given a cap so they'd have to prioritize the list of ideas.

 

Kinda like Tuner Transformation. Is that still on? I havent seen it in a while?

 

i dont think they treat it with any special care, and most of the time they just mainly do wheels, and a paintjob and throw tv's all over the place

 

Yeah, I saw Tuner Transformation the other day. It pissed me off. Some 18 yr old had a brand new turbo Audi that he got from his daddy because he wanted a sport compact after seeing the Fast and the Furious. They dumped 30K into this already beautiful car. New, bigger turbo, all new suspension, phat sounds.... the works. The they topped it off by slapping a gigantic Audi vinyl on the side. I was like ???

Anyway, they did the test track before with the 0-60 and the skid pad and everything, but then they didn't do an after. What a ripoff.

Why do they do "Overhaulin" or "Tuner Transformation" for people who could afford to do it on their own? I don't get it. Come get my car you bastards.

 

never saw tuner transformation, what channel does it come on? oh and pimp my ride was a novelty at first to see the absurd transformations they were performing, now it seems like such a waste and very tacky (still seem to watch though). i would rather have my own show called "Swap my ride" where all we do is ridiculous motorswaps. like it would be great to see them come in as beaters like on pimp my ride and leave as sleepers. drop 2jz's in 83 corollas, 6.0 liter v8's in 85 cavaliers, nsx motors in 91 hatchbacks and leave the exterior 5 colors and leave the rat poo in the carpet. thats my kind of show.

 

When they put the tv's in the quarter panels, that was the end of me watching that show.

i also love how xzibit talks like he's the one doing all the work to the car...."i'm about to pimp your ride". psh, whatever.

 

it should be called

"pimp my piece of crap that i didnt take care of before, and i wont take care of now, and since i live in the ghetto, it will be tagged, and broken into within a month of being pimped"
